PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Sodium sulfate (Na₂SO₄), also known as thenardite or salt cake, is a crystalline compound with a melting point of 888°C (1632°F). Naturally occurring sodium sulfate, in its anhydrous form as thenardite, can be found in regions such as Chile and Spain. It plays a vital role in several industrial processes, including the production of paperboard, glass, and freezing mixtures.
The hydrated form, Na₂SO₄·10H₂O, commonly referred to as Glauber's salt, is a white, water-soluble solid formed by heating a mixture of sodium chloride and sulfuric acid.
